Here is a photograph of Chardonnay grapes in the Ronchi vineyard, taken today at 1:30 p.m.
As you can see in the image below, the sky is cloudy. This is a change from the many sunny days we’ve had.
In the photo below, you also can see the crates that we have readied for harvest.
Franciacorta appellation regulations state that “harvest of the grapes and their transportation to the pressing center must be carried out in such a way as to not compromise the integrity [of the skins] of the berries. Only hand harvest is allowed and the grapes must be placed in small crates” like the ones in the photo.
